We bought this item for an eldery lady in assisted living, after discovering that her old one broke (different brand). Her doctor prescribed this low impact, low effort excercise device, considering her age (85) and general physical condition, and she uses it on a daily basis for arm and upper chest exercise. During assembly, we found that the $2.15 battery for the timer was discharged. I called customer service, and was told that the battery is not covered under warranty. Yes, but shouldn't everything work out-of-the-box? Product is priced right, nice looking, she was impressed and happy........until 2 days later, when a pedal fell off. Then, she blamed herself for being so careless. The problem was a broken 1/2 inch push nut that held the pedal onto the end of the crank. I believe that the fastener should have been an E-clip, which would have been stronger, as the only way the push nut would have broken so soon is due to excessive force during factory assembly. Light piece of equipment, does the job. Did require some WD-40 and I put my yoga mat under it to stop it from sliding on my hardwood floors. But otherwise perfect!

I bought this for my husband and we were disappointed. You need a yoga mat to put the pedals on (the pedals slide like mad and is unusable if you don't). The timer is crappy. For the money, it's fine but I would spend a little more for a better product if I were to buy one of these again.
