I read a lot of reviews and found that the biggest problem with at home bikes was the chain sound. This one didn't have reviews but it had one of the heaviest fly wheels I could find at a reasonable price. This bike definitely has a lot of chain sound and also when you increase the resistance, it makes quite a bit of sound as well. If you want a quiet bike, this is not the one for you. Other than the LOUDness of it, it's extremely sturdy and well made.

The item is sturdy and well built, but the thing is terribly noisy. I'm disappointed. The chain sounds like a jiggling bolt, which is what I searched for finally realizing the noise was coming from the chain. The resistance squeaks and squeals, and needs constant adjustment to minimize additional noise levels. Also, with decent resistance the left pedal knocks at the top of the stoke, but but it doesn't knock at low resistance. This is a poorly engineered item. I regret the purchase, and would not recommend this to anyone with hearing. Were I to resell it to get a quality piece of equipment, the presentation of this item to a potential buyer would include a number of apologies. Bummer bike.
Update:
After 2 visits from a manufacturer-sent technician, and about 6 weeks of just waiting with a useless bike, I had no choice but to return it. Thank God the seller has customer service, because the manufacturer doesn't. They don't answer calls, and the only way...Read more

The noise from the resistance pads (that rub on the flywheel) and connecting parts is so loud I cannot hear the television. When you can reach customer service or whenever they decide to return your email they just tell me to put cooking spray on it. It works for a day and then you have to do it again. There is no reason for this. Also, the computer that came with mine has not worked and I have been trying to get it replaced for TWO months. AND this bike is under warranty. Last resort is for them to have someone come out to repair it. If I could deliver it to Pro Form's front door and leave it there I would.
