Amazon.com Product Description
Developed with the cooperation of the Boston Institute of Sports in Sweden, the Monark 884E sprint bike is designed for quick and efficient sprint training. The 884E is built specifically for power testing, with a unique display that lets you perform five-, seven-, and 10-second self sprint tests, after which you receive immediate feedback. Because the bike doesn't require external help nor distract your attention with complicated programs, you can focus all your energy on achieving a better result with each sprint interval. The sprint test works by calculating your average power in watts by multiplying your test value (total RPM) and the brake force (amount of weight in basket). Users generally start with zero resistance, then release the weight basket (via a handlebar pushbutton) for immediate pushback. When you want to lift the resistance, simply pull the cord on the bike, which lifts the weight basket back to the locked position. The sequence is replicated for sprint interval training. The weight basket is entirely self-regulated, meaning it doesn't require calibration at any time. As long as the basket is in the air and the weights are correct, then the brake force is correct. It's also easy to add weight to the basket, with 1 kg, 0.5 kg, and 0.1 kg options and a workload range from 1 kg to 12 kg. And the bike's electronic meter displays plenty of info, including pedal revolutions per minute, heart rate, time, speed (in km or miles), distance, calories burned, and cycle power. Other details include an adjustable seat and handlebar, wheels on the bottom for easy transport, a chest belt and PC software, a solid steel frame, and a maximum user weight of 275 pounds. The 884E, which is designed to meet the rigorous demands and needs of sports medicine clinics, universities, professional sports teams, and testing facilities, can also be used as a regular weight ergometer for VO2, Submax, and Max testing. The bike measures 26.5 by 44.5 by 44 inches (W x H x D), weighs 140 pounds, and carries a one-year warranty. Key Features: - Large, well-balanced flywheel 22 kg (48 lbs)
