About Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

Summary: Exellent stationary bicycle! 2010-01-24
Comment: I've been using this stationary bike for over a year and I highly recommend it. It is perfect for use in a small apartment - it doesn't take up too much space and provides a great workout. Putting it together wasn't that difficult (compared to other cardio equipment that I have) and maintenance isn't much either. I have to check the bolts every once in a while on the front and back stabilizers because they come a little loose sometimes. Also, the instruction manual is VERY clear (again, especially compared to other machines) and it took me under an hour to put it together - although the instructions suggest having 2 people to do it, I did it myself and had no problems. Yes, the tension cord was a bit of a pain but it's not impossible to connect.
The bicycle is very quiet, although sometimes something does start clicking in it for a minute or so and then goes away. Don't really know what that is. As in pretty much every other piece of cardio equipment, the calorie count is way higher than reality, but everything else is good, so I suggest challenging yourself on time and/or distance and using an online calorie counter instead.

Summary: Nice bike 2009-10-23
Comment: Amazon delivered the bike on time and not damaged. The assembly took about an hr. I only used it once, but it seems like a good product.

Summary: Well Built Cycle 2009-10-01
Comment: The cycle is heavy built and works very smoothly. The only thing it does not do is accumulate mileage as the last one we had, which is important to my wife.

Summary: Great value and performance 2009-09-25
Comment: This exercise bike is a great value. It's sturdy and not difficult to assemble. I did it myself and am not a mechanically inclined person and had no trouble with the tension cable, but do admit the cable connection is kind of like an old-timey pub puzzle. The seat is not that bad either. I ride a bike to work most days in the spring, summer and fall and bought this to supplement my cycle needs during the winter months. In any case, the 1st week of getting back on my regular bike I'm saddle sore but it's par for the course. This seat is wide but cushioned and just takes a little time for your buns to acclimate and the best way to do this is to just work up to it, start with short times and build on them every day. It's a very quiet bike too, perfect for setting up in front of the tv. My one complaint is the computer is rather "generous" in its calculations: I would not rely too heavily on the readouts, especially the calorie counter. I really wish I could believe the calorie counter though! Overall great bike and great value.

Summary: Worth the money 2009-09-24
Comment: Assembly took 10 minutes. I'm 6'3" and have back problems - the handlebars are waaay too low UNLESS you turn them around (not like bull's horns with the ends pointing upward but downward) and align the handlebars almost straight up. The bike is wonderfully quiet. The saddle is fine if you have the right butt for it, but my guess would be 95% of the population don't... For the price a steal, let's see how it holds up.
