It is very solid and quiet which is a huge plus for us since we live on the third floor of an apartment building. The digital readout is nice and lets you know time, distance, RPM, heart rate, etc. The only downside to the heart rate monitor is that it takes a little while to find your rate after you put your hands on the sensors. Not a big deal if you realize that most monitors on exercise equipment never work as well as the chest straps. I actually bought mine through a local Dicks Sporting Goods a few weeks ago. They have one on display but intentionally don't ever keep them in stock, thus you have to get it shipped (so you can buy through Amazon and save the sales tax). While I was at the store the sales guy let me know that the local 24/7 fitness uses these in one of their rooms at the gym for spin class.
