This review is from: Ironman 1611 Upright Bike (Sports) I thought I was purchasing a new item, the IRON MAN bike I received was obviously repacked and had been partially assembled. There was a well used box cutter inside the box. This wouldn't have mattered too much but the item was damaged (my guess that this is the reason it was returned).
I contacted Amazon about this they offered little beyond returning it to them. This would have been difficult due to my physical limitations, the condition of the now well used packaging and the weight of the item, so I contacted the US distributor Star Trac. Star Trac makes you fill out a form to obtain warranty parts for an item that was supposed to be NEW. After more than 2 weeks I received the necessary parts. I will not buy another item from them again. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Ironman 1611 Upright Bike (Sports) I bought this bike about a month ago to ride in my living room while watching TV. My only complaint is that the seat is a couple of inches low for someone of my height (6'2"). There does appear to be room to drill another hole in the seat post to give the bike another inch or two of height, so I will try that.
Other than that, the bike is very quiet and sturdy (I am 180 lbs). The seat is pretty comfortable and the resistance is more than enough for an athlete like myself. I usually ride at about half the max resistance. The LCD does take batteries, but only 2 AA (which are included), instead of 4 C like some bikes I saw when doing research. The assembly was relatively simple and took me only 20 minutes. The only tricky part is attaching the resistance dial to the resistance cable because the picture in the instructions is not very clear. I would definitely recommend this bike for the value at this price. |
